Ryan Aronson

Ryan and Fred have guided alongside each other for over a decade. When we launched Salmon River Drifters, it was clear we wanted Ryan (and his fly rods) on our team! Ryan’s love for the river, his patience and ability to teach, and his easygoing charm make him an invaluable part of the SRD family.

Ryan lives a short drive from Riggins, in McCall, Idaho. He is one of the most seasoned Salmon River guides in the area. During summer, he’s guiding or spending time with family on the Lower Salmon and Hells Canyon. Come fall, you’ll find him back in Riggins on the weekends, chasing steelhead with a fly rod in his hand.

Ryan thrives on sharing his love for the outdoors and is one of the best entertainers at camp (ask him about butt-darts!). Whether it's helping guests swing a streamer through a run, entertaining guests at camp, or teaching cursive to third graders, Ryan brings the same enthusiasm and care to everything he does, and we’re lucky to have him by our side!
