We are Salmon River Drifters
We welcome you to our little slice of paradise in the Salmon River Canyon! We are a husband-and-wife duo with deep Salmon River Roots. We have spent our entire adult lives in the guiding and outfitting industry. We are building a business that reflects our love for the river and the community where we were raised, and call home.
We’re passionate about sharing the river’s beauty, adventure, and memories it inspires with people like you.
We are located in Riggins, Idaho - We run our trips on the Lower Salmon River between Vinegar Creek Boat Ramp & Hammer Creek Boat Ramp, a 63 mile stretch of the Salmon River.
We want you to be a part of our story.

Where do we fish?
Of the 425 miles of the Salmon River, we are permitted to fish an incredible 63 miles. All of our trips are based out of Riggins, Idaho, the central point of the area we are permitted to fish.
Our fishing area begins at the end of Big Salmon Road, on the edge of the Frank Church–River of No Return Wilderness. From there, the Salmon River winds 63 miles through the second-deepest river gorge in North America.
The first 27 miles take us through a secluded canyon with deep, flat granite walls and breathtaking views. After reaching the town of Riggins, the river turns north for the remaining 36 miles of our fishing area. Here, we encounter an incredible geological shift—where the towering granite walls and frosted riverbank opens up into a wider desert canyon of basalt and limestone.
A single day on the Salmon River doesn’t do it justice. There’s simply not enough time to take in its full beauty. Plan for multiple days, explore the entire canyon, and truly soak in the experience!
